Police arrest hit and run driver in Lauderhill
Police have arrested the man they said is responsible for a hit-and-run car accident which occurred on Sunday morning.
According to
Lauderhill police, the driver was initially pulled over for failure to wear a seat belt. He had two children in the car. As the officer was attempting to get information from the driver, he fled the scene, striking another vehicle in the area of Rock Island Road and NW 44
th Street. The vehicle he struck then struck another vehicle causing it to roll over.After a short police chase on foot, the driver was taken into custody.
He is facing multiple charges which include failure to wear a seat belt, child neglect, resisting arrest, failure to obey a lawful command, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident with injuries, and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage.
