Drunk driver who killed Broward man is arrested

A drunk driver accused of hitting and killing a Broward man seven months ago was arrested Wednesday, authorities said.

The driver faces six DUI-related charges which include two counts of DUI manslaughter, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The driver had a revoked driver’s license when he struck and killed the Broward County man. He was driving, with a blood alcohol level almost four times the legal limit, northbound on the Florida Turnpike extension near University Drive when he rear-ended another vehicle, causing both vehicles to crash into a guardrail.

The driver had previously been convicted of two counts of DUI property damage and his license had been revoked for ten years. He had also been convicted of drunk driving in Broward County.
